WISE seeks to provide support services and innovative programs with initiatives that focus on financial education, leadership, civic engagement, and preparation for college and the workplace. Although it strives for timeliness and accuracy in all of its materials, WISE makes no representations, warranties, or assurances as to the availability, accuracy, currency, or completeness of this site or its contents. WISE shall not be liable for any damages or injury resulting from Your access to, inability to access, or use of this site, including, without limitation, any damages or injury arising from any links to other sites contained within or referred to in this site.
Privacy
Working In Support of Education is committed to preserving Your right to privacy. WISE does not collect identifying information about You (such as Your name, address, telephone number, or email address) unless You voluntarily submit that information to us through our Contact Us page, our Test Your Financial Literacy registry page,registration page, online surveys, or other means. WISE may ask users to provide their contact information, as well as certain identity codes, job title and function, information required to perform credit verification, and other relevant information or preferences. We treat identifying information You submit to us as confidential and do not sell or otherwise disclose such information to third parties.
Contact Us:
The Contact Us page is the primary means of communication with WISE
staff for a website visitor. Website visitors may use the Contact
Us page to send content suggestions or questions about any of the
areas of the site directly editorial staff and programmers. Website
visitors may also use this form to ask general/specific questions
(about financial literacy, the programs of WISE, the annual conference,
volunteering, events related to financial literacy, the Website
or content), submit notification of broken links, communicate privacy
concerns, and/or submit praise and/or complaints. All comments are
seen by the manager of the website and manager of the financial
literacy programs who, along with other staff and volunteers, handle
all content-related issues and may use these comments, for instance,
as ideas for generating new content. All technical and operational
issues pertaining to the website are forwarded to the website’s
programmers and technical consultants for handling.
Test Your Knowledge:
Each school is given a randomly generated user name and password.
These identifiers allow the results of each school to be lumped
together for the purpose of statistical analysis. Individual results
(including the results of each student’s tests) are not individually
distinguishable from other individuals taking the tests at the same
school. First and Last names are optional, and individual results
are given statistical relevance using the zip code, city, and birth
year fields on the sign in form. Additional demographic information
requested is provided at the sole discretion of the test taker,
and is used for statistical purposes.
Other:
When You visit the site, WISE may automatically collect certain non-identifying information about You, such as the type of browser or computer operating system You use or the domain name of the site from which You linked to us. Our servers automatically recognize visitors' domain name and IP address (the number assigned to computers on the Internet). No personal information about you is revealed in this process. WISE may also gather anonymous "traffic data" that does not personally identify you, but that may be helpful for improving the services we offer.
From time to time, we may use the standard "cookies" feature of major browser applications that allows us to store a small piece of data on your computer about your visit to our website. We do not set any personally identifiable information in cookies, nor do we employ any data capture mechanisms on our website other than cookies. Cookies help us learn which areas of our site are useful and which areas need improvement. You can choose whether to accept cookies by changing the settings on your browser. A Note to Parents and Teachers
Our website is intended to be a safe resource for students and others
to find useful, age-appropriate information. Although WISE is a
non-commercial, nonprofit, charitable foundation and as such is
not subject to the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, it
takes children's privacy very seriously. WISE does not share or
sell the information sent to it, whether by children or anyone else.
WISE does not advertise third-party products to children or anyone
else.
Security
WISE employs reasonable security measures to protect the personal
information You submit to it. Such security involves the use of
